Did you know that Walt Disney World Resort has just opened a new interactive color experience at the infamous Epcot Center? The aptly named Colortopia by Glidden is part of the park’s “Innoventions”, which is an exhibit designed to highlight the latest technology and products from companies around the world. Within the exhibit, there is a narrated tour along with a wide variety of fun interactive activities for the kids and their parents.
“Pairing the magic of the park experience with the magical role color plays in our lives is an exciting opportunity for the Glidden brand,” said Mark Lancia, senior brand manager of Glidden, a brand of PPG Paints. ‘We’re excited to share the Colortopia experience with the park’s visitors from around the world.”
It features a Spinning Spectrum where you can watch colors blend into new hues, a Color Mix ‘n’ Match station, a Color Our World exhibit to paint your own masterpiece with a magic paintbrush, Color Shadows, and a show called “Power of Color”. The best part is that once you have finished painting your masterpiece, you can email it home to yourself!
While we are busy painting Houston you can go to https://experiencecolortopia.com/ for more information about this awesome exhibit and Glidden paint in general. This website has a color personality quiz and an app you can download to be a part of the experience from afar. With the app, you can make masterpieces on your phone, change the hue of your photos, and use it to interact at the actual exhibit by unlocking color palettes as you travel through the World Showcase! They also have a section to direct you to related websites for advice, tools, and even Disney’s own paint line. Within the Colortopia blog and Advice Column, a team of nine experts acts as your personal paint consultants by sharing their knowledge for those with questions.
The paint manufacturer already has an established relationship with Disney from its licensing deal with the aforementioned Disney paints sold at Walmart. This line of paint is specifically designed for children’s rooms because it is scrubbable, mildew resistant, available in 112 unique Disney paint colors, and contains no VOCs (volatile organic compounds, which are harmful solvents released into the air when the paint dries). However, Glidden also sells other paint types at Home Depot and other retailers if you are looking for something else. Above all else, they are known for their low prices.
We here at Pro Painters would love to visit Colortopia ourselves because what family doesn’t love a trip to Disney? For now, we can just offer our Houston painting services to other families in need of a punch of color in their own homes. Give us a call today!
